A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a gold sword and feather connected at top by an arced black scroll inscribed "COMMITTED" and also at bottom by an arced black scroll inscribed "TO SERVE" all in gold letters, and overall a gray lozenge with axis horizontal bearing a bezant charged with a white demi-pelican vulning itself with two drops of red blood upon her breast.
Silver gray and golden yellow (gold) are the colors associated with finance units. The sword represents military preparedness; the quill signifies administrative functions. The lozenge is traditionally associated with finance activities and the bezant simulates coinage. The pelican, in her piety, is adapted from the state flag of Louisiana and reflects the unit's home location as well as underscoring the motto.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 6 August 1991.
